A simple equation. Or perhaps not, most zebra and donkey hybrids are referred to as zedonks rather than zonkeys. In any case, Northcutt Acres, a farm in Harrison county Kentucky has two zonkeys (pictured) on hand in addition to four donkeys and countless other farm animals. Unfortunately we can’t find out more about the zonkeys or Northcutt Acres without a subscription to the Falmouth Outlook.
Sure zonkeys (or zedonks) are pretty cool to look at, but they are quite rare. The reason is because zonkeys like mules have an odd number of chromosomes that make them infertile or sterile.
Anyone lucky enough to see one of these rare and strange characters in real life?
